The maniac's face is hidden by a mask made from the skin of his victims. The remake says that the maniac's face was disfigured by a congenital skin disease, and before he started killing people, he made masks from animal skins. In addition to skin problems, the maniac reveals mental disorders - he does not speak, behaves inappropriately, dancing and making grunting sounds when moving. Despite this, members of his family understand the maniac when he speaks to them.
