Kenwood
Kenwood was created by entrepreneur Kenneth Wood in 1947 and was called Woodlau Industries. In 1968, Kenneth Wood sold it to Thorn Industries Ltd, but continued to monitor the affairs of the company until his death in 1997. In 1989, Kenwood's management bought the company from Thorn EMI, and it traded on the London Stock Exchange in 1992 under the name Kenwood Appliances PLC. Kenwood expanded through the acquisition of Waymaster in 1993 and the Italian company Ariette in 1994, while simultaneously expanding the range of home goods and expanding production capacity in Europe.
