2K Games is a distributor and publisher of interactive games, entertainment software. 2K Games is a subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive, which also owns Rockstar Games. It was created on January 25, 2005, after Take-Two acquired Visual Concepts developer and its subsidiary Kush Games Sega for $ 24 million.
The name "2K Games" comes from a series of sports games by Visual Concepts, which, as a rule, had the name 2K and were originally released only for Dreamcast. 2K Games is headquartered in Novato, California. The company is actively developing, and offers its products both domestically and abroad.
2K Games was nominated by the British Academy Video Game Award for Borderlands 2.
